Thor Auditions - 10 Actors Chris Hemsworth Competed With to Become Marvel's God of Thunder (He was Very Close With Some of Them)

Chris Hemsworth is a prime example of the perfect casting in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

His portrayal of Thor has gone down in history and made him a fan-favorite star to fans of the franchise. However, he had to fight for the role, and he competed with some very big stars to get cast.

After making his debut in 2011′s Thor, the 40-year-old actor played the iconic hero in multiple movies over the years. His most recent movie in the franchise was 2022′s Thor: Love and Thunder.

While he quite simply is Thor now, he had to beat out 10 other actors to land the role. The list includes some people who he is very close to.

Interestingly, one of Chris‘ competitors wound up making his own MCU debut alongside him in Thor. Others have recalled suiting up for auditions. Chris himself admitted that he thought he knew was going to get the part at one time, and it was not himself but the star of another very successful franchise.
