Barcelona’s pre-season preparations are going on in full flow under the leadership of Hansi Flick.

The Catalans have already intensified their training regime under the German tactician, whose rigorous physical training programmes will be a key theme during his tenure.

However, on Friday, Flick decided to take a break from this rigorous training setup and hosted a match between his pupils, reports SPORT.

This was the first such match hosted by the new coach, who divided the two teams into nine players each. Most of the participants were youth players, as Barça are currently missing a series of first-team players owing to either injuries or an extended summer break.

The key highlight of the game saw three teenage prospects get on the scoresheet as Darvich and Junyent scored goals for their side, while Unai Hernandez found the net for the opposing team.

Darvich became the first player to score under the Hansi Flick regime, albeit in a training match, as he scored the opener.

The goal could go a long way in boosting the confidence of the German teenager, who is looking to establish himself as a regular first-team option in the coming season.

Meanwhile, Vitor Roque, too, could have scored a goal in this training match. But the Brazilian missed a penalty, which if he had converted, could have seen him level the game.

The missed penalty won’t reflect too well on Roque, who is desperately fighting for his place in the team, failing which could see him depart this summer.
