Following a solid loan spell at UD Las Palmas last season, it appeared likely that Julian Araujo would find a place in the first-team squad at FC Barcelona heading into the 2024/25 campaign.

However, as things stand, the Mexican international could be on his way out once again after failing to make the most of his chances in pre-season.

Araujo was given minutes by new manager Hansi Flick against UE Olot and Manchester City but failed to make an impression. As such, the coach opted for Alex Valle at right-back in the last two games against Real Madrid and AC Milan.

Araujo on his way out

Given the situation, Julian Araujo is likely to be loaned out yet again this summer or even sold permanently, with SPORT reporting that Hansi Flick does not count on him as part of his plans at Barcelona.

Interestingly, though, there is no shortage of offers for the 22-year-old former LA Galaxy ace, with as many as three La Liga clubs vying to sign him.

Indeed, Real Betis, Girona, and Sevilla are all understood to be keen on Araujo’s services and have even sent in offers for the right-back.

The most concrete proposal seems to have come from Real Betis, with the report stating that Manuel Pellegrini’s side are offering €3 million plus another €7 million in variables for Araujo. Barcelona, though, do not want to sell for anything less than €10 million.

Meanwhile, Girona, too, are understood to have made a proposal as they see Araujo as a possible replacement for Arnau Martinez, who could be leaving.

Finally, a move to Sevilla could see Araujo reunite with Garcia Pimienta, the man who gave the Mexican international his La Liga debut at Las Palmas in the previous season.

All in all, Araujo has three interesting proposals in front of him to choose from as an exit from Barcelona looms.
