Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has shown that he is prepared to give La Masia players an opportunity at the highest level, irrespective of how young they are.
It has led to the likes of Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi prospering in the senior setup this season while more and more young talents continue to get a chance to prove themselves to the manager.
Indeed, the Barça head coach constantly calls up players from youth and reserve teams to first-team training sessions, providing them an opportunity to learn and test themselves with the elite.
Three new talents called up to training
Now, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona manager Xavi has called up three new young talents to train with the first-team setup today.
Indeed, Leo Saca, a 17-year-old Moldovan centre-back, Manu Vila, a 17-year-old interior midfielder, and Wesley Dual, an 18-year-old Spanish-Brazilian midfielder were all part of today’s training.
This comes in the lead-up to Barcelona’s La Liga clash against Valencia on Monday night, where they will be eager to bounce back to winning ways after the Clasico defeat.
On Friday, Xavi had called up another young midfield talent in Brian Farinas to train, with the 18-year-old even tipped to make the squad list against Valencia.
However, the same cannot be said of Saca, Vila or Wesley, who will still have learnt a lot by getting to train with senior team players and under the eye of Xavi.
As far as the game on Monday is concerned, Barcelona will be without Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, and Alejandro Balde, all of whom are out injured.
