Thunder Rosa has given her view on the recent Nyla Rose controversy.
The former AEW Women’s Champion was subject of a controversial warning this past week. The Oklahoma Athletic Commission reportedly warned AEW against having Rose, a transgender wrestler, competing against other women in the state of Oklahoma.
According to the report, it is illegal for a transgender wrestler to compete in sports in the state. Oklahoma clearly does not realize wrestling is fake, no care about Nyla Rose’s rights as an individual, unlike Thunder Rosa.
Thunder Rosa recently spoke to Gabby AF on Premier Wrestling about the Nyla Rose situation. She revealed she was shocked about the report. She also noted that voters need to keep up on the laws in order to look out for everybody’s wellbeing.
“The reality is that there are a lot of things happening in our country that we never thought would happen again. Everything has changed over the decades. Our society is different now. Everyone has different opinions about things. Things like this make me go, ‘Wait, what?’ Now, it’s translated to professional wrestling.”
“That’s why it’s very important that everybody stays informed, that you get your sources from different places to see what’s happening, to read why it’s happening, and to understand it from an understanding place instead of from a judgmental place when things like this happen. But there was completely overwhelming support for Nyla Rose yesterday. I was reading a lot about it, reading the laws, and stuff. So, again, as an adult, as an active voter, it’s important that we stay alert and informed. Regardless of whether you are on the left or the right, make the right decisions and really think about everybody’s well-being, yes.”
Despite suffering a devastating defeat to Toni Storm at AEW Dynasty, Thunder Rosa is still looking out for her colleagues.
