A big name in French arbitration was dismissed from his position this Wednesday.
It was expected, it is now official: Stéphane Lannoy is leaving his position as head of French professional arbitration. According to information from the daily L’Équipe, the former referee was dismissed from his position by the French Football Federation (FFF).
Stéphane Lannoy has been in the eye of the storm for a few days following the numerous controversies which mar this 2023-24 season in Ligue 1. French arbitration is going through a deep crisis.
