A great South American goalkeeper has announced his decision to end his career.

This is a page that is turning in the history of Chilean football. Claudio Bravo ends his career. This goalkeeper, considered a reference in his position in the 2010s, announced his desire to hang up his boots on Tuesday in a message published on social networks.

Claudio Bravo, 41, achieved the feat of becoming the oldest goalkeeper in a Copa America match in the last edition of the tournament two months ago. He is also currently the third most capped footballer in the history of the Chilean national team, with 150 appearances for La Roja.

A great club career

Winner of the Copa America in 2015 and 2016, Claudio Bravo embodied a superb promotion in his country, in the same way as Arturo Vidal or Alexis Sanchez. But it is not only in the national team that this goalkeeper has taken the spotlight during his best years.

Bravo had also enjoyed success at several major European teams, such as FC Barcelona and Manchester City. Led in particular by Luis Enrique in Catalonia, the Chilean had to face competition from Marc-Andre ter Stegen after the German’s arrival in Spain. Before and after Barça, Claudio Bravo spent time with two other Spanish clubs, Real Sociedad and Betis Seville.
