Turning heartbreak into an heirloom.

Tia Mowry repurposed her engagement ring and wedding band from ex-husband Cory Hardict into sentimental gifts for her children — son Cree, 13, and daughter Cairo, 6 — two years after the pair’s split.

The 46 year old explained her decision on the Oct. 11 episode of her new reality show “Tia Mowry: My Next Act.”

“I haven’t worn it for almost two years now, and it just doesn’t feel right to sell it,” Mowry said in the episode.

“But what I am wanting to do is change my wedding band into something for my kids. Pass it down, you know, to my kids, because they have been my biggest gift.”

The “Sister, Sister” alum got visibly emotional after putting the rings back on, explaining that they had been “sitting” in a drawer since her 2022 divorce.

“It was very pretty,” she said through tears while looking down at the diamond sparkler.

Although Mowry was sure of her decision, it made her “sad” to think it used to be “a symbol of a marriage and it is no longer.”

“It’s hard for me to not think about Cory when I am deciding to repurpose my wedding band because he is the one who gave me my wedding ring,” she said during a confessional.

The actress admitted she didn’t ask for Hardict’s approval but felt he would be okay with it because it’s going to their children.

However, Mowry said it was something she needed to do for herself.

During her consultation at a jewelry store, the mother of two explained she wanted to convert the rings into “some nice jewelry pieces” for her children. She ultimately decided to make Cree a necklace and Cairo a bracelet.

“I just think it’s so beautiful to transform something that was given out of love and to give it to your children. It just makes me feel like my marriage wasn’t a waste,” she explained. “I did the right thing.”

The couple were married for 14 years — together for nearly 20 — before pulling the plug in October 2022. Their split was finalized six months later.

Mowry isn’t the only star who has redesigned their marriage tokens following a divorce.

In March 2024, Emily Ratajkowski revealed she converted her engagement ring into two separate “divorce rings” after her split from Sebastian Bear-McClard.

The model separated the diamonds on her “toi et moi” — or two-stone — ring to “mark the new chapter in [her] life.”

“Just like a divorce is a separation of two people, these rings are a separation of two stones. Now she has two rings she can proudly wear everyday that serve as a reminder of how strong and powerful she is,” Alison Lou founder Alison Chemla told Page Six.

For the first ring, worn on her pinky, Ratajkowski set her massive pear-shaped stone on a gold band.

She added a few extra diamonds to her second bauble, flanking her original princess-cut stone with two trapezoid-shaped stones.
