Tia Mowry is clarifying the current state of her and Tamera’s relationship.

Over the weekend, we got our first glimpse of Tia’s new WE tv reality show Tia Mowry: My Next Act. In the teaser, the 46-year-old gets real about the difficulties of co-parenting in the wake of her divorce. She candidly confessed she’d always envisioned raising her children with ex-husband Cory Hardrict under the same roof, and she’s struggling to come to terms with her new reality.

Clearly she needs a shoulder to cry on… But it apparently won’t be her twin sister’s! She dished:

“It’s times like this when I feel and wish that my sister and I are still close and I could pick up the phone and call her. But that’s just not where we are right now.”

WHOA! You can hear her talk more about it (below):

Fans were absolutely heartbroken to hear the shocking news that the twins aren’t as close as they once were. We mean, they’ve always been so tight — now they can’t even do a phone call?!

So amid all the concern, Tia is once again speaking out. During an interview with Us Weekly published on Tuesday, she explained:

“You could hear it from me, and this is basically what I was insinuating: I feel like as we grow up, we all start our own families and their children need to lean on them. We begin to take on new roles and responsibilities within our lives. That is what that was all about.”

Um… WHAT? What does that answer?

Tamera married husband Adam Housley in 2011, and the pair share two kids together. But… plenty of siblings have kids and stay close. Tia continued:

“In these transitions in life, sometimes you just want a hug and you just want someone to be as accessible as they used to be, and that is not the case. I love my sister very much. She loves me very much. We have a closeness and a beautiful connection. But that’s what that was all about. It’s just how life unfolds, and it happens with many families.”

She’s describing what a lot of siblings go through as they get older, just having their own lives, sometimes far apart. But that is NOT what it sounded like she was saying on the show. She said she wished she “could pick up the phone and call.” That sounds like a much bigger rift than the average sisters. And for it to happen to twins? Something is going on, right? We mean, Tia had the time to pick up the phone and call Us Weekly!

Well, if something is going on, neither of them are going to talk about it publicly. See, Tamera also spoke to the outlet — and hit back at the fan response to the quote:

“When you’ve been in this industry for over 30 years, things are always taken out of context and it is what it is. The only thing that I can do is control my behaviors and be the best person that I could possibly be, and that’s what both of us are. We are incredible, inspiring examples, and we have been that all our lives. So, why change that now?”

We’re glad they still at least seem united in their desire for privacy! LOLz!

As for Tia, she dished she’s excited for “the unknown” as she moves forward as a solo act, in more ways than one apparently:

“There’s beauty in solitude. There’s beauty in change. There’s beauty in understanding oneself — understanding your traumas, understanding your triggers. What role do I play in these transitions? What role have I played in my pain and suffering? That has been something that has been in the forefront of my healing and my journey.”

We hope these two are able to someday rekindle their old dynamic! Reactions??
