EXCLUSIVE: Til Schweiger and Nicky Whelan have wrapped production on Jared Cohn action thriller Hunt Mode. The movie was filmed in LA and also stars Cam Gigandet (Twilight), Timothy V. Murphy (Sons of Anarchy), and mixed martial artist and actor Rampage Jackson.
Whelan plays Tammy Fenton in the indie action film, an ex-special forces operative who discovers her daughter has been abducted by a ruthless human trafficking ring.
She launches “hunt mode,” an all-out mission to bring her home, per the synopsis. Aided by a former military comrade (Murphy), Fenton navigates the criminal underworld, unearthing a web of corruption extending from the streets of Los Angeles to high-powered officials.
Cohn (Deadlock) directs and Vaagn Sarkissian (American Skin) produces under his VABA Productions banner. The team behind the movie told Deadline it goes big on explosive shootouts, brutal hand-to-hand combat, and high-speed pursuits.
Australian actress Whelan’s credits include a stint on iconic Aussie soap Neighbours and roles in Halloween 2, and in recent times, comedy drama Motel.
German actor and filmmaker Schweiger has appeared in films including Inglorious Basterds and more recently signed on for action thriller The Neglected, as first reported by Deadline.
“This film doesn’t let up,” a source close to the production of Hunt Mode said. “Fans of both classic action films and modern thrillers are in for something truly special.”
