Tina Knowles addressed an alleged statement that she made in response to Dolly Parton. On Thursday (September 19), a comment attributed to Beyonce‘s mom went viral on social media after the “Jolene” country music legend weighed in on Beyonce being overlooked in the nominations for the 2024 CMA Awards. She’s been puttin’ in the work, and nobody else gets asked to ‘spend their life’ in one place to be recognized,” the alleged comment, which was screenshotted by Complex, read. However, Tina took to the comments section of an Instagram account that shared the statement to say that it did not come from her. “This is fake not from me,” she wrote. Beyonce was not included in the list of nominees for the upcoming country music awards show despite the success of her country inspired album Cowboy Carter. During an interview, Dolly said that it was hard to say that she was snubbed, adding that the organizers “probably thought, well, we can’t really leave out some of the [artists] that spend their whole life doing [country music].”
