Asiwaju Sulaiman Adegunwa
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Asiwaju of Ijebuland, Sulaiman Adegunwa, on his 80th birthday.
In a statement on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described Adegunwa as a longtime friend, respected industrialist, and philanthropist who has made significant contributions to the country’s economy.
“The President joins family, friends, and business associates of the renowned industrialist and philanthropist in celebrating the milestone, which caps outstanding years of investment in people and institutions that have significantly impacted the economy,” the statement read.
The President praised the octogenarian, who is also the Chairman of Essay Holdings and former Chairman of Sterling Bank, for his broad investments in sectors that drive economic growth, job creation, and improved livelihoods.
Adegunwa is the founder of Rite Foods Limited, which operates a major production facility in Ososa, Ogun State.
Tinubu prayed for long life and good health for the Ijebu high chief.
