EXCLUSIVE: Tiya Sircar (The Good Place), Anna Diop (Nanny), Graham Phillips (Riverdale) and Georgia King (Vice Principals) have joined the cast of Prime Video‘s Scarpetta in recurring roles.
They join the previously announced Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis, who will both executive produce; Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker, Rosy McEwen, Jake Cannavale, Ariana DeBose, Sosie Bacon, Amanda Righetti, Janet Montgomery, Stephanie Faracy and Mike Vogel.
Based on Patricia Cornwell’s best-selling book series, Scarpetta follows Kay Scarpetta (Kidman), Chief Medical Examiner, as she returns to Virginia and resumes her former position with complex relationships, both personal and professional – including her sister Dorothy (Curtis), with plenty of grudges and secrets to uncover.
Sircar joins as “Blaise Fruge,” a policewoman; Diop joins as Sierra “Tron” Patron, a Cyber Investigator with the FBI; Phillips joins as Past “Matt Petersen,” a handsome, genteel actor; King joins as Past “Maggie Cutbush.”
The series was officially picked up for two seasons earlier this month with Deadline exclusively revealing the project was in the works in early 2023.
Liz Sarnoff (Barry, Lost) will write, executive produce, and showrun. David Gordon Green (Halloween, Stronger) is set to direct the first two episodes.
Kidman will executive produce for Blossom Films, and Curtis will executive produce for Comet Pictures. Cornwell will executive produce for P & S Projects alongside Jason Blum, Jeremy Gold, Chris Dickie, and Chris McCumber for Blumhouse Television and Per Saari for Blossom Films. David Gordon Green and Amy Sayres also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Blumhouse Television and Amazon MGM Studios in association with Blossom Films and Comet Pictures.
Sircar is repped by Neon Kite, Paradigm, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman; Diop is repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer; Phillips is represented by Gersh and Amplified; King is represented by Paradigm Talent Agency and Thruline Entertainment.
