The following matches and segments are from the July 5 edition of TNA Xplosion.
The show opened with a singles match. Bhupinder Gujjar vs. Shogun started TNA Xplosion, after Gujjar picked up a win last week over Eli Isom. He was equally impressive in this match, flying around the ring to catch Shogun off guard.
However, Shogun used his power to his advantage, taking control of the match by grounding Gujjar. He eventually made the comeback, pinning Shogun with a middle-rope spear to pick up the victory to open TNA Xplosion.
This was followed by a “From The Vault” match. TNA showed the Full Metal Mayhem match between Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy from TNA Slammiversary 2016. The brothers used ladders, guardrails and even a keyboard to inflict damage on one another, in and out of the ring.
Jeff Hardy won at the end of a chaotic match. He hit a Swanton Bomb from the top rope, diving to the outside and crashing through Matt Hardy, who lay motionless on a table on the floor. They crashed through the table, and Jeff pinned him for the win.
They followed this with “Around The Ring” with Gia Miller. She was joined by Judas Icarus, who is one half of “Sinner and Saint” alongside Travis Williams. The duo chatted about Icarus’ other job as an outreach worker in Vancouver, helping homeless people get back on their feet.
‘In Case You Missed It’
This was followed by “In Case You Missed It” segment. TNA Xplosion replayed the match between Joe Hendry and Jake Something from TNA Impact this week. This match was a qualifier for the TNA World title match at Slammiversary, which will see Moose defend his title against five other men.
Despite recently appearing on NXT, Joe Hendry picked up the win against Jake Something. He hit the “Standing Ovation” on his opponent before pinning him, winning his way into the match at Slammiversary.
This was followed by the main event of Xplosion. Sinner and Saint battled ABC (Chris Bey and Ace Austin) in a tag team match to close out the show. It was one of the longer matches on Xplosion, which made sense given the talent involved.
In an exciting back-and-forth match, ABC handed their opponents another loss when they hit a flying cutter to get the pinfall in the main event.
