If you recall Christian Cage‘s 2009 WWE return via the ECW brand being underwhelming due to Todd Grisham‘s commentary, there was a reason for that.
Christian’s 2009 WWE return was recently discussed online due to the lack of enthusiasm from former commentator Todd Grisham. Grisham responded on social media and revealed this was a directive that came directly from Vince McMahon, tweeting out:
“Right before I walked out of the Gorillia position before the show. Vince McMahon called me over and said ‘When Christian walks out..don’t get excited at all simply say “it’s Christian” and that’s it. Understand me?’ Me: ‘Yes sir,'” Todd Grisham said in a post.
This revelation caught the attention of All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan who had the following to say regarding the leader of The Patriarchy, tweeting out:
“This is insane. Christian Cage is the man,” Tony Khan said in a series of posts.
