Brighton & Hove Albion, currently 10th in the Premier League, has shown serious interest in Corentin Tolisso, Olympique Lyonnais midfielder and 2018 world champion. Author of a remarkable first part of the season, the 30-year-old is at the heart of the transfer rumors.

According to The TeamBrighton are looking for an experienced and versatile midfielder, a profile perfectly embodied by Tolisso. The English club inquired with OL and the player’s entourage. Although flattered by the interest, Tolisso has no plans to leave Lyon in January, preferring to focus on the club’s goals, including a potential rise in the standings.

A departure this summer rather than in winter?

However, on the OL side, a winter transfer would be financially interesting. Under contract until 2027, Tolisso receives 600,000 euros gross monthly, a significant amount in a context where the club is under financial pressure due to restrictions imposed by the DNCG.

Attached to Lyon, where he plays alongside Alexandre Lacazette, Tolisso would favor reflection on his future at the end of the season. In great shape, he could aim for a return to the French team in March, an ambition incompatible with a hasty transfer. Brighton will therefore have to be convincing, both sportingly and financially, to hope to finalize the operation.
