Tom Pestock, formerly known as Baron Corbin, comments on the controversy surrounding Rey Fenix and AEW.
Fenix has not wrestled since July. AEW reportedly added injury time to his contract amid rumors that Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo were in contact with WWE. Penta left AEW and signed with WWE, while Fenix has remained under contract with AEW, though his absence has continued.
Pestock took to Twitter to respond to a fan who wrote that Tony Khan needed to let Rey Fenix go, as the situation only hurt the talent.
“If you sign a contract you honor it,” he wrote. “Would it have been okay if Tony didn’t pay him while he was hurt or out of action? The answer is no bc Tony signed the contract as well. You can’t switch teams after getting what you want and signing the contract.”

He stated that everyone who got hurt had injury time, no matter what company was in. He also said that maybe Fenix did not want to work, though only he and Khan would know that.

That’s part of it.
And maybe fénix doesn’t want to work. Only him and Tony know that
