In a recent appearance on WFAN Daily, Khan discussed AEW’s position in the wrestling landscape and the ongoing rivalry with WWE. He emphasized that the battle is relentless, saying, “It’s a constant fight—it’s 52 weeks a year. Wrestling is the only sport with no offseason.”
When asked if his focus on competing with WWE had become an obsession, Khan diplomatically stated that such a drive extends beyond wrestling. “Fighting is an obsession. I think it’s really a driving obsession, competition, especially in wrestling and sports. You have to focus on doing your best.”
AEW has shown no signs of backing down, especially during the ‘Wednesday Night Wars,’ where Dynamite consistently outperformed NXT in viewership. However, in October 2023, WWE NXT turned the tables, comfortably beating Dynamite when AEW’s flagship show aired on a Tuesday, highlighting the ongoing competitiveness between the two promotions.
