Tony Khan says fans should keep an eye out for some great stars returning to AEW.
Kenny Omega has been absent from AEW programming since May, as he was recovering after surgery due to diverticulitis. However, he appeared at NJPW Power Struggle, and he is set to compete at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty. Likewise, Ricky Starks has been absent since March, but he has recently made multiple appearances on the independent scene.
During the AEW Full Gear post-show media scrum, Liam Crowley of ScreenRant asked Tony Khan when fans may see Kenny Omega and Ricky Starks return to AEW.
“I think we’ve gotta keep an eye on the future, not to give away things, but very excited about having our stars participate in other promotions,” Khan said. “We have a lot of really cool things coming in January. Kenny Omega and Ricky Starks have both been great champions in AEW, Kenny Omega from day one. We wouldn’t be here without Kenny Omega, and that’s definitely something to keep an eye on for the future when some more of these great stars will be back in AEW.”
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
