Tony Khan is hopeful that Kenny Omega will compete for AEW again, but he doesn’t want to create an unfair expectation of when that will happen.

Omega has been sidelined since December with diverticulitis. Omega’s status was brought up during Khan’s AEW Revolution post-show media scrum. Specifically, Khan was asked about Omega being featured in advertisements for AEW’s upcoming events in Winnipeg despite his absence due to injury.

Khan said he’s hopeful Omega will get cleared again. However, he didn’t feel comfortable elaborating on a timetable for that return or hinting that he’d be at the Winnipeg shows.

“I don’t think it would be fair at all to create that expectation that Kenny Omega would be cleared by then. I really appreciate the question. I’m really optimistic that Kenny will be coming back, but I don’t know the exact date. I think that’s an aggressive timetable, but absolutely, Kenny is one of AEW’s great stars and we can’t wait to have him back as soon as possible. I don’t think it would be fair to create the expectation he’d be cleared by then, though.”
