The Best Bout Machine Kenny Omega has returned to AEW and Tony Khan is very excited about it.
All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan was a recent guest on The Battleground Podcast. When asked about the recent return of Kenny Omega, Khan said how excited he is to get Omega back on the active roster.
“It’s so exciting to have some of our top stars returning to AEW,” Tony Khan said. “Tonight, Kenny Omega returns to the AEW ring for the first time in over a year. Tonight’s Kenny’s first match back on television since 2023. We haven’t seen Kenny Omega in the ring here in America in a really long time.
“He did have a comeback match in Japan that went very well, but now he’s being tested against one of the most powerful and one of the most impressive athletes in wrestling in my lifetime that I can ever remember. And that’s The Machine Brian Cage. It is rare, and it is very exceptional to find somebody with this level of power, speed, and athleticism.
“And this is the match Brian Cage came to AEW four or five years ago, this is the match he’s wanted since he arrived here in 2020. He’s been a top star in AEW, and now Brian Cage is hotter than ever. He’s on this amazing undefeated run, winning seven straight matches in AEW. He is as hot as anybody in the entire company.
“And last week, we saw Brian Cage punch Kenny Omega in his surgically repaired guts. What’s going to happen with Brian Cage steps in the ring with Kenny Omega tonight? It’s going to be awesome. I cannot wait for that, and it’s been huge having Kenny Omega back in AEW. It was a great surprise when he came out at AEW Worlds End, and then last week, what a cliffhanger to AEW Dynamite setting up this week’s show to see Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay standing tall together. We’ve never seen that before.
“We’ve seen Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay clash. Maybe the greatest match in the history of AEW was Kenny Omega versus Will Ospreay at Forbidden Door. So I’m incredibly excited about Omega returning to AEW, and all the possibilities and everything that comes out of tonight when Kenny Omega returns to the ring on Dynamite against Brian Cage.”
