Tony Khan comments on why he and Eric Bischoff don’t seem to get along.
WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff has made a few appearances on AEW programming in the past. But in recent years, both on social media and on his podcasts, he has harshly criticized the company on a regular basis. Khan has responded to Bischoff’s comments occasionally.
Speaking on K&C Masterpiece, Tony Khan was asked why he and Bischoff don’t seem to get along.
“It’s an interesting question. I think, first of all, there hasn’t been that many wrestling companies that have risen to international prominence. There aren’t that many wrestling companies in modern history that have sold tens of thousands of tickets to their event and sold hundreds of thousands of pay-per-views. In that sense, Eric and I do have something in common.
“I do respect his accomplishments. He’s just got a show, a podcast that’s kind of largely devoted to taking shots at us, and a lot of it isn’t really rational, logical, fruitful. I don’t think those things seem to matter to him anymore. But I do respect what he accomplished with WCW. It was a great company. In that sense, I do respect him.”
Khan went on to highlight AEW’s success and noted that he and Bischoff had another commonality, as they both had a show that aired on TBS/TNT.
WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW Dynamite as it airs on April 24.
