Tony Khan is very happy with how AEW is fairing as an alternative to the WWE.

The AEW President set the company up in 2019 in order to give fans an alternative major wrestling promotion in the US. Since their first show in May 2019, they have grown at an impressive rate and continue to impress.

Tony Khan was asked about his vision for AEW as an alternative at the AEW All Out 2024 post-show media scrum.

The AEW boss responded by detailing their “unprecedented” market share. He discussed the business records set by the company over the past five years.

“The market share that AEW’s captured since we launched five years ago is unprecedented. We started with a market share of zero, and now we have a real market share. We’ve gone to England twice and sold over 50,000 tickets. We’ve set business records. Done multiple multi-million dollar gates. We’ve become an international success story, continuing to build our worldwide business. I think it’s an unprecedented success story.”

“For AEW to come in and achieve what we have is very true to our sport. You can tell the people who work here really love professional wrestling. We encourage that, whether you’re a wrestler, work in the production truck, around the ring, behind the camera, or in front of it. We really encourage people who love pro wrestling, and I think that’s how we’ve helped grow our market share.”

Tony Khan: AEW Is Only Getting Better And Stronger

Tony Khan continued, speaking about the connection AEW has with the fans, which they have come to expect over the past half a decade.

He added that the company is only getting “better and strong”, and that he feels strongly about the future of the company.

“We have a lot of like-minded fans, which helps capture the excitement and energy. You saw all kinds of emotions and reactions tonight, but the crowd was on the edge of their seat all night. We’ve seen that many times over the past five years, and it’s what we’ve come to expect from AEW.

“I think it’s only getting better and stronger. The connection and emotions are getting stronger and more intense. Tonight, I felt stronger about what we put out there than I ever have, and I feel stronger about AEW’s future than ever before.”
