Tony Schiavone says he is honored to be a part of AEW, and he is excited to keep working there for the next few years.

Schiavone has been in the wrestling since the early 1980s. He worked for Jim Crockett Promotions before he spent a year in the WWF. Schiavone then returned to WCW and stayed there until the company went under in 2001. After spending several years away from wrestling, he joined MLW in 2017. Schiavone started working with AEW in 2019, and he has since become a key member of the team backstage as well.

Speaking at the AEW WrestleDream post-show media scrum, Tony Schiavone commented on AEW’s media rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery.

“We’d also like to say that we are very, very excited about our renewal with Warner Brothers Discovery and FOX Sports Mexico,” Tony Schiavone said. “We are very, very excited about that. I am personally excited that my longtime career’s gonna continue for at least another four-to-five years or so. I’m honored to be here. I love working with this guy [Nigel McGuiness], and I just love wrestling.”

Schiavone received the Gordon Solie Award earlier in 2024. More information is available here.
