Chief Dr. George Moghalu, the first National Auditor of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially resigned from the party, citing personal reasons for his departure.
In a resignation letter addressed to the chairman of Uruagu Ward 1, Nnewi, Nnewi North LGA, Anambra State, Moghalu conveyed his decision while expressing his hope to maintain a positive relationship with his former colleagues. The letter, dated August 26, 2024, was also copied to the Local Government Area (LGA) and State Chairmen of the APC.
The letter stated:
“I bring you the warmest wishes from my family and formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership of the APC, effective today, August 26, 2024.
Please consider this a personal decision. It is my sincere hope that the cordial relationships we have built over the years will continue.
I wish you and all party members the very best. Please, as always, accept my highest regards.”
Moghalu, who previously served as the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), has been a significant figure in the APC since its formation.
