Tottenham eyeing up a move for 18-year-old defensive prodigy

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Santos defender Joao Pedro Chermont.

The 18-year-old has attracted a lot of attention with his performances this season and Tottenham Hotspur’s are keen on securing his services according to journalist Rogerio Siqueira.

The defender has a contract with Santos until 2025 and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham come forward with an official proposal to sign him at the end of the season. Given his contract situation, he could be available for a nominal price this summer.

The 18-year-old defender is naturally a right-back but he can operate as the right-sided winger as well. He could be the ideal understudy to Pedro Porro. Emerson Royal has been linked with a move away from Tottenham and they will need to replace him. The 18-year-old seems like the ideal acquisition.

The Brazilian is highly talented and he will look to establish himself as a regular starter for the north London club in the coming seasons. Competition for places will help the squad improve as well.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League can be quite exciting for most players and the youngster will look to test himself at the highest level.



Joao Pedro Chermont could fancy Tottenham move

Spurs certainly have the financial muscle to get the deal done and it remains to be seen now the situation unfolds.

Tottenham have done reasonably well this season, but they have been quite inconsistent. They will need to add more quality and depth to the squad during the summer transfer window. They will be hoping to push for trophies and compete in the UEFA Champions League in the coming season.
