A huge double blow for Tottenham ahead of their trip to Tyneside.

Ange Postecoglou confirming two star players miss the Newcastle United match.

The Tottenham boss saying that both Richarlison and Dominic Solanke are ruled out of Sunday’s match.

In three Premier League matches last season against Newcastle United, the two strikers scored a combined five goals.

Richarlison scored twice in the 4-1 win for Tottenham but missed the game at St James’ Park.

Whilst Solanke scored both goals in the Bournemouth win over NUFC on the south coast, plus another at SJP in the 2-2 draw.

Tottenham official update – 30 August 2024:

Rodrigo Bentancur is available for our Premier League clash against Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Sunday (1.30pm UK).

The Uruguay midfielder started and impressed before being stretchered off with a head injury after 78 minutes of our season opener at Leicester City on 19 August.

He was ruled out of our 4-0 win against Everton on Saturday but is now available again.

Speaking to us on Friday, Ange explained: “Rodrigo is all good, he’s passed all the protocols we need to, and more importantly he feels really good and the medical team are really comfortable with him being available for Sunday.”

Unfortunately, Dominic Solanke, who also picked up a knock at Leicester and missed last weekend, isn’t ready to return – and Ange reported that Richarlison was injured in training this week, and is expected to ‘miss the next few weeks’.

He added: “Dom is close but we’re going to be a bit cautious with him, we’ve got a big programme post the international break, so he’ll miss out on Sunday. The only other one we got midweek is Richarlison, who unfortunately picked up an injury in training, so he’ll probably miss the next few weeks.”
