Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are keen on a move for the Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber at the end of the season.

A report from HITC claims that the two English clubs are keeping tabs on the player and it remains to be seen whether they come forward with an official approach in the summer.

The 22-year-old central midfielder is highly rated in the Eredivisie and he could prove to be a quality addition for the two English clubs. Timber will add creativity, control and defensive cover to the Spurs midfield if he joins them.

Quinten Timber would improve Tottenham, Newcastle

Spurs need more depth in the middle of the park, especially if Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg moves on in the summer. Timber is young enough to improve further and he could develop into a key player for the Londoners.

Meanwhile, Newcastle need more quality in the midfield as well. Bruno Guimaraes has been linked with top clubs in recent months and the Magpies might need to replace him in the summer if he decides to move on.

Quinten Timber’s bother Jurrien Timber joined Arsenal at the start of the season and the 22-year-old might want to follow in his brother’s footsteps. A move to the Premier League will be an exciting step in his career and he would get to test himself in English football and compete alongside some of the best players in the world.

It will be interesting to see if Feyenoord are prepared to sanction his departure at the end of the season. He has been an important first team player for them and the Dutch outfit could easily demand a premium for him.
