Tottenham will be without club captain Son Heung-min when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford this evening.
The Korean sustained an injury in Tottenham’s 3-0 win over Qarabag in the Europa League on Thursday night. His availability for today’s game was immediately thrown into doubt as a result.
Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglu said that his star forward was hopeful of getting through training on Saturday, but the Daily Mail claims his chances of playing against United are in the bin.
Son hasn’t been at his best for Tottenham this season, but it’s still a positive for United that they will be without one of their star players. A club captain at that.
Tottenham come to Old Trafford on a run of three successive victories.
But there is no denying that Son’s absence will come as a blow for Postecoglu.
Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski are likely to lead Tottenham’s attack at Old Trafford. United will also need to try keep James Maddison quiet in the centre of the pitch. The England international has showed goonform, despite Tottenham’s patchy form.
