WWE stands as the global powerhouse of professional wrestling, with a legacy unmatched in the industry. The company excels at broadening its reach through various partnerships, including their partnership with A&E due to their documentaries.

Over the years, A&E has been responsible for documentaries such as Biography: WWE Legends and WWE Rivals, among others. All of them give more insight into the careers of many WWE Superstars, and fans truly can’t get enough of such shows.

Ahead of WWE’s upcoming move to Netflix in January, President Nick Khan discussed the potential for introducing new content beyond the regular programming of Raw, SmackDown, and NXT. Recent developments suggest we might have a glimpse into one of these new shows, following a recent trademark filing by WWE.

On October 19, WWE filed for the trademarks “WWE Legends & Future Greats” and “WWE LFG” under the category of entertainment services. The filing hints at a variety of potential programs, including sports and entertainment content accessible through television, satellite, web-based applications, and mobile platforms.

The description accompanying the filing mentions a range of content, such as live professional wrestling events, reality-based TV shows, and sports-related programming. WWE also plans to offer fan club services, online community forums, and multimedia programs. This aligns with the company’s strategy of expanding its content offerings on multiple platforms, reinforcing its presence in sports entertainment.

Entertainment services, namely, a continuing program about sports and entertainment accessible by means of television, satellite, audio, video, web-based applications, mobile phone applications and computer networks; entertainment services, namely, television shows about sports, entertainment and general interest rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; entertainment services, namely on-going reality based television programs rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing entertainment and sports news and information via a global computer network or commercial online service; entertainment services, namely, provision of information and news about sports, entertainment and general interest rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing information in the fields of sports, entertainment and general interest via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports, entertainment and general interest; fan club services, organizing and staging events with fan club members, promoting the interest and participation of fan club members, and providing an online community forum for fan club members; Providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the fields of sports entertainment; entertainment and educational services, namely, ongoing multimedia programs in the field of general human interest, distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing entertainment information regarding ongoing television programs via a global computer network; production of television programs; production of multimedia programs.”
