For its big return to Ligue 1, AJ Auxerre is very active at the start of the summer transfer window.

After a magnificent campaign concluded with a Ligue 2 champion title, theAJ Auxerre regains its place in the elite. And the Burgundy club has no intention of making up the numbers. Two years ago, AJA failed to make this move to the next level. Christophe Pélissier and his management are on all fronts to build a squad capable of defending its place in a Ligue 1 with 18 players.

With this in mind, Auxerre is testing the market and is not ruling anything out. According to information from Foot Mercato, the promoted club has checked the name of a young defender from the Ajax Amsterdam academy: Ar’Jany Martha. Presented as a very promising prospect in his position, this 20-year-old Dutch left-back has the profile of a fast and hard-hitting counter-attacker.

Auxerre begins an ambitious transfer window

As his contract at Ajax expires, Ar-Jany Martha has reportedly decided not to renew with his training club. Foot Mercato specifies that AJA has made progress on this issue, but the Burgundy team will have to face significant competition since Villarreal and Monza have also reportedly positioned themselves on the young Dutchman.

This track confirms, if it were necessary, that AJ Auxerre intends to generate competition to optimize the quality of its squad. Ghanaian international Gideon Mensah and Ivorian international hopeful Clément Akpa shared playing time at this left-back position last season.
