AS Monaco announced the departure of a key player this Thursday evening.

It had been expected for several weeks, it is now official: Guillermo Maripan is leaving theAS Monaco. The Chilean international defender signed for Torino this Thursday evening. A transfer announced by the Principality club in an official press release.

Monaco slims down

By parting ways with this experienced player, AS Monaco confirms its desire to slim down its squad. “Originally from Vitacura in Chile, Guillermo Maripán arrived on the Rock in the summer of 2019 from Deportivo Alavés (Liga). The Chilean international defender, 1m93, has defended the colours of the Principality club 150 times and scored 13 goals. Guillermo notably contributed to the good 2023-2024 season of the Red & Whites, finishing in second place in Ligue 1. With AS Monaco, Guillermo “Memo” Maripán also reached the podium in the 2021 and 2022 seasons, as well as the final of the Coupe de France in 2021″specifies the ASM.
