Travis Kelce has confirmed he won’t accompany Taylor Swift at the Grammys as he needs to focus on the Super Bowl.

In an interview, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said he would not be at the music award show on Sunday where Swift is nominated for six awards.

“I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys, and watch her win every single award that she’s nominated for,” Kelce said during an interview on The Pat McAfee Show. “But I think I’ve got practice on Sunday.”

The Chiefs are going to Las Vegas for Super Bowl Sunday on Feb. 11 where they will face off the San Francisco 49ers. Due to his practice schedule with his football team, he wouldn’t be able to commit to traveling to L.A., where the Grammys are going to be held.

“Unfortunately, I’ve gotta get ready for this big old Super Bowl that we’ve got in a week,” Kelce added.

Swift has been supporting Kelce throughout the NFL regular season and post-season cheering on the player from the stands. The extra coverage the couple has received has not been a distraction, according to Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who praised the way the duo has handled the situation.

“She’s been great,” Reid said in an interview while making an appearance on the Let’s Go! podcast hosted by Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray. “Listen, she’s a good girl and I’m happy for Trav, and there has been no distraction that way at all. Trav’s handled it right, she’s handled it right, and we just move forward, so it hasn’t been a problem at all.”
