Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been linked with a move to Real Madrid with La Liga winners keeping a close eye on the England international, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The Reds defender has impressed the Champions League winners, who are looking for a new long term replacement of their current right-back Dani Carvajal.

After the departure of Jurgen Klopp from Anfield, some players were expected to follow the German manager out of the club.

However, Alexander-Arnold has no such motive and he is keen to stay at his boyhood club and reject the approach of Real Madrid.

According to The Sun, the Liverpool defender has already held talks with new manager Arne Slot and he is looking forward to shine for the Reds next season.

The uncertainty in the media about Alexander-Arnold’s future started since the defender has entered the last year of his contract at the club.

He is keen to extend his time at the club by signing a new contract and he is currently not thinking about a move to the Santiago Bernabeu to play with his England teammate Jude Bellingham.

The report has also mentioned that the Premier League giants are ready to offer Alexander-Arnold a massive new contract in order to make him stay at the club and ignore Real Madrid’s interest.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has no intention to leave Liverpool.

‘Trent’s spoken to the new manager already,’ a source told the newspaper.

‘This took place before the Euros and they’re in touch now.

‘They had a great conversation initially but the manager respected that he needed to focus on the tournament.

‘Trent, like the rest of the squad, sees this as a new beginning and a fresh start and he is excited to get back to training to lay the foundations for a successful, new season.

‘He is definitely committed for the season and a huge deal will be presented to him to stay beyond that.

‘Everyone at the club has huge admiration for Trent and will be doing whatever it takes to keep him.’

Liverpool cannot afford to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold

This would come as a huge boost to the new Liverpool manager and the fans.

The Liverpool player is now a senior member of the squad along with players like Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Alisson Becker.

Slot would be hoping to keep him at the club in order to smoothly transition into a new era at the club.
