Wes Lee, who was initially expected to be out for nearly year due to an injury he suffered last year, surprised many by making an earlier return in May and reuniting with The Rascalz. However, on this week’s NXT, Lee turned heel on his former partners, leaving fans and his teammates stunned. In response to Lee’s betrayal, Trey Miguel expressed his frustration and disappointment, stating that he feels “sick” about the situation.
On August 6, during Week Two of the NXT Great American Bash, the NXT Tag Team Champions, Frazer and Axiom, defended their titles against Wes Lee and Zachary Wentz at the Capitol Wrestling Centre. The match was an action-packed spectacle, with Frazer and Axiom demonstrating impressive athleticism and teamwork while Lee and Wentz fought for their first NXT titles since their reunion. The audience responded with chants of “This is Awesome” as the excitement built.
In the closing moments, Frazer and Axiom overcame a brief lapse in communication to execute a decisive double team move on Wes Lee. Axiom secured the pinfall, ensuring that Frazer and Axiom retained their championships.
Following the match, Wes Lee betrayed both members of The Rascalz, attacking them in a post-match assault. He confronted them with the words, “You left me alone,” before leaving Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel battered.
Trey Miguel took to Twitter and finally commented on Wes Lee’s shocking betrayal, as he made it clear that he was simply sick after what transpired on NXT this week, as he uploaded a photo of himself and Lee during better times.
”Can’t sleep. Just can’t believe everything going on. I feel sick”
Zachary Wentz has also broken his silence on the matter. We’ll have to wait and see how WWE will book Wes Lee in the coming weeks. Fans are certainly intrigued by this new direction for the previously established babyface, who has now made a surprising heel turn.
