Trick Williams is out for retribution.

With a stacked card to accompany it, tonight marks the CW Network debut of WWE NXT. Kicking off the show will be a NXT Women’s Championship match pitting Roxanne Perez against Giulia. Elsewhere, Ethan Page will defend the NXT Championship against Trick Williams, with CM Punk serving as the special guest referee.

During a recent interview with PIX11 News, Williams looked ahead toward his title match, marking it as an opportunity to also avenge his loss at NXT Heatwave.

“That’s right. Ethan Page is what I like to call an impostor. He came to our brand probably three to four months ago, and he stole my title. Now it’s retribution time,” Williams said (H/T Fightful). We’re gonna see him in Chicago on October 1st, and it’s a title match. This is the debut of our CW premiere, so I have everything on the line, everything to gain. I’m the man to represent NXT, and I’m ready to prove that October 1st.”

As Williams alluded to, Page’s win at NXT Heatwave came under unique circumstances. In the match’s closing moments, Williams hit Je’Von Evans and Shawn Spears with a running knee. While Spears fell off the ring apron, Evans laid out onto the mat. Williams followed up with a running knee to Page. Unfortunately, Page landed right on top of Evans, prompting the referee to begin counting for a pinfall while Spears pulled Williams legs. Accordingly, the referee crowed Page as the new NXT Champion.
