The Watch List looks at what matches you should be watching, and they are recommended by today’s professional wrestling stars.

WrestleZone recently spoke with Trick Williams, the new NXT Champion. Williams was asked if he had a match that best highlighted his work to this point. Trick had a few matches in mind, but highlighted bouts with Ilja Dragunov and his own path to the NXT title. Williams won a title shot by winning the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline 2023, and he said Dragunov put a bigger spotlight on him at NXT Vengeance Day this year.

“It’s tough. I gotta say a couple. I’ll say the Iron Survivor Challenge [at NXT Deadline 2024]. That shows my heart, like, ‘Okay, how far the tables look when they’re turned against me, I’ll find a way and I’ll fight through.’ I’m a fighter,” Trick Williams said.

“Also, that Ilja Dragunov match [at Vengeance Day] is number two with me,” he added. “Man, we fought for 15 minutes and that’s the fighting heart of the champion. Ilja let me show that.”
