WWE SmackDown officially has a new highest-grossing episode, with Friday’s episode in Lyon, France officially setting a new record.
Taking to social media following Friday’s SmackDown in France, Triple H revealed that the May 3 episode of the show had officially set the record for the highest-grossing SmackDown of all time.
The record comes just a month after it was previously broken, when the April 5 episode of the show that took place in Philadelphia was said to be the highest-grossing.
“Tonight’s event in Lyon, France is officially the highest-grossing [SmackDown] of all time, breaking a record set just 4 weeks ago in Philly ahead of [WrestleMania XL],” Triple H said. “Can’t wait to see what the [WWE Universe] brings to [WWE Backlash] tomorrow.”
Friday’s episode took place in Lyon, France, ahead of WWE’s Backlash premium live event, which is set to take place on May 4, beginning at 1 p.m. EST.
