Triple H wants to see WWE Superstars getting their own sneaker deals.
The WWE COO recently appeared on Sneaker Shopping with Complex, and discussed the possibility of WWE stars signing deals for their own signature trainer lines.
“The Game” stated that he had thought about it, and can see it doing huge business for whichever companies locks down his big stars first.
Triple H was asked whether it was time for a WWE Superstar like Roman Reigns to have their own signature Jordan Deal, to which he replied:
“I do. It’s funny, I’ve thought it for a long time. When you look at our world – much like what Travis is doing, that’s bigger obviously in how you can affect that culture – I think that our performers affect that culture just as much as well. If you go to a game, almost any sport, you’ll hear our entrance themes playing in that stadium or that arena. You’ll hear the sayings and the chants and the catchphrases that our talent use.”
“You can’t go to a game without people wooing like Flair. I see athletes doing the Roman Reigns ‘one’ all the time. I think the ‘Yeet!’ thing that Jey has now brought back, it all affects culture in a big way, and I think if somebody doesn’t do the signature line with some of our talent, a Cody Rhodes, a Jey Uso, a Roman Reigns, I think they’re missing the boat on something that could be very impactful towards their business.”
Triple H Compares Current WWE To Attitude Era
Later in the interview, Triple H spoke about WrestleMania 40. He claimed that the business can be compared to the Attitude Era if they can keep up their momentum going into Saturday’s show.
“You just look back and you go, forty years. So forty years as we roll into this. The business is probably…I can look at it different now. I just said a minute ago, we didn’t know it was the Attitude Era at the time. Having lived through that, I can look at right now and say we’re in another era like that. People won’t put a tag on it. We didn’t call it the Attitude Era in the Attitude Era. They’ll put a tag on it later, whatever it is.
“But if we can maintain, we’re in that same white-hot level of everything’s sold out, everything we’re doing is just clicking. You see, Travis Scott wanting to come in, Bad Bunny wrestling with us, The Rock coming back. Rock’s got a busy schedule. If wrestling’s on the down, he ain’t coming in. So you see that. You see that excitement. WrestleMania 40 will be massive, and we’re gonna do everything we can to make it the biggest WrestleMania in history.”
