Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is reading the fans minds!
Stratus, who recently had a run with the company last year, would like to see WWE build up characters in the women’s division. It can certainly be discussed that during Stratus’ heyday, the focus was more on character over in-ring action. The hefty storylines were there, but WWE didn’t dare have the women out perform the men in the ring.
While speaking at Comic Con in Northern Ireland, Stratus was asked what she would do differently to make the women’s division better. She didn’t shy away from the lack of character we see weekly.
“I think I would like to have a little bit more focus on characters. I feel like for sure now, there’s way more opportunities for women, obviously. We see them main eventing all the time, we see them in high-profile matches, but I think what we had back in the day was a lot more character stuff, and you got to know these characters. The fans could really resonate with the character a little bit more. Mow, they’re just having these great matches, but there’s no backstory as much as there was back in the day, so I think character development would be one thing I’d like to focus on.”

Also in the same interview, Stratus mentioned she would love to have a match with Tiffany Stratton.
