It is safe to say that the world of women’s wrestling is doing very well in multiple wrestling promotions. But a wrestling veteran seems to have a small issue with the current era of women’s wrestling. The star in question is none other than WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus.
Earlier this week Trish Stratus and her best friend, fellow WWE Hall of Famer Lita were part of the panel at the Comic-Con event in Northern Ireland. During the event, the seven-time WWE Women’s Champion mentioned that she would love to see more focus on building the characters of the female stars.
“I think I would like to have a little bit more focus on characters. I feel like for sure now, there’s way more opportunities for women, obviously. We see them main eventing all the time, we see them in high-profile matches, but I think what we had back in the day was a lot of more character stuff, and you got to know these characters, the fans could really resonate with the character a little bit more. Now, they’re just having these great matches, but there’s no backstory as much as there was back in the day, so I think character development would be one thing I’d like to focus on,” Trish Stratus said. Stratus also teased a return to the squared circle to wrestle Mrs. Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton.
