EXCLUSIVE: Tristan Mack Wilds (Swagger) has signed on to star in The Day Before Christmas, a holiday romance being produced and distributed by BET+, with Roger Bobb aboard as director.
Written by Trell Woodberry, with Perri Camper serving as producer, the film follows two single parents who, after mixing up their phones and their children’s backpacks, must take turns covering for each other on a very busy Christmas Eve — inadvertently causing them to get to know one another better and fall in love along the way.
Wilds is an actor and Grammy-nominated musician perhaps best known for starring alongside Quvenzhané Wallis and O’Shea Jackson Jr. on Swagger, the sports drama on Apple TV+ from exec producers Reggie Rock Bythewood, Brian Grazer and Kevin Durant, which ran for two seasons. Prior to that, he starred opposite Druski, Chloe Bailey and Quavo in the musical comedy Praise This, directed by Tina Gordon and produced by Will Packer, which premiered on Peacock in April 2023.
Also known for his breakout roles as Micheal Lee on HBO’s The Wire and Dixon Wilson on The CW’s remake of 90210, he’s additionally been seen on the Fox show Shot Fired, as sell as in films like Red Tails, The Secret Life of Bees, and Half Nelson.
