Nigeria captain and Al-Kholood Club defender, William Troost-Ekong, has told Completesports.com that the Super Eagles will defeat the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in Friday’s AFCON 2025 qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo.
Troost-Ekong dismissed any chance of a Libyan upset but wisely cautioned that victory would not come easily.
“No, no, no, there won’t be any chance of them pulling us down. We’ll win, we’ll get the three points, but we know it will be difficult against the Libyans,” Troost-Ekong said.

The centre-back further revealed that the Super Eagles are fully focused on qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco next year and cannot afford to let Nigerians down.
“We want to be at the AFCON next year. We cannot afford to miss the tournament in Morocco. We’re working hard—players, coaches, officials, everyone—and we hope to achieve our dream,” Troost-Ekong emphasised.
