Stade Rennais is very demanding with OM for the transfer of its full-back Adrien Truffert.
OM, which has already completed three arrivals during this winter transfer window, is targeting a fourth. Among his priorities is Adrien Truffert, the member of Rennes. But the trail leading to the young Belgian turns out to be complicated.
Rennes sets the bar high for Truffert
In search of a right-back, the Marseille management did everything to snatch Truffert from the Bretons. The latter, however, do not make their task easy. According to Foot Mercato, they have revised their claims upwards and are demanding a very large sum for the transfer of their player.
If Rennes is being greedy on this issue, it is perhaps also because the club needs cash to finance the arrival of Brestois Pierre Lees-Melou. The latter is strongly desired by the team’s new coach, Julien Stéphan.
For the people of Marseille, the hope now is to see the situation evolve positively over time. Olympian officials can wait until the last moment before drawing, but that would be taking a significant risk. And it is not sure that their trainer Gennaro Gattuso agrees to be so patient. As a reminder, for the right-back position, OM have already seen a player escape them since the start of the current transfer window, in this case David Jurasek from Benfica.
