IMG Credit: All Elite WrestlingStill got it? Retirement is a very complicated issue in wrestling as there is always the chance that someone could get back in the ring. While mainstream athletes are almost never going to be able to return to action after several years away, there is often a chance that a wrestler could get back in the ring following a long time off. Now a wrestler has revealed he might have put his toe in the water to see how it goes.

Nigel McGuinness appeared on Wrestling Weekly and spoke about how he had to retire in 2011 due to injuries. McGuinness went on to talk about how difficult it was to see his peers, including Bryan Danielson, continuing their careers at great levels of success while he was in WWE. He revealed that he got back in the ring recently and felt “perfectly ok”. McGuinness, 48, went on to say that after his history of concussions, he does not feel he could do some of the things seen in modern wrestling anymore. There is currently nothing to indicate that he will be returning to in-ring action.
McGuinness has quite the history in the ring. Check out some of his career:
Opinion: This is one of those “wait and see” situations, as it feels like McGuinness might be getting ready to return to the ring but at the same time, it would be almost hard to fathom him returning to action after so long off. At the same time, hearing McGuinness rip Danielson apart every chance he can almost has to lead to a match. With All In set for later this year in London, it is really easy to imagine McGuinness returning to a hero’s welcome. We’ll have to wait and see though, as that is a big step forward.
