Twice As Good: WWE Superstar Reveals She Was Legally Blind In One Eye Until Earlier This Year

I’ve seen it. There are all kinds of injuries in the world of wrestling and some of them are more serious than others. These are the kind of things that can delay wrestlers’ careers, and those are on top of other health issues which can cause problems of their own. Now a current WWE Superstar is explaining something that she had to deal with over the summer to correct a rather serious issue.

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, WWE’s Natalya revealed that she had surgery over the summer to correct astigmatism in her eye, which had left that eye legally blind. Natalya said that she had been born with the condition and the technology to fix it had not been developed. She had a break from WWE earlier this year due to her contract expiring and had the surgery, resulting in her eyes being in sync with each other. Natalya last wrestled on the October 7 Monday Night Raw.

Opinion: That’s a rather serious situation and thankfully Natalya has gotten everything cleared up and the problem solved. You don’t see that kind of thing very often and what matters the most is that Natalya is better than she has ever been before. Hopefully this makes her career that much better, as she now has a tool that she never had before, with everything being more visible than it ever has before.
