Two people sustained varying degrees of injuries in an accident near the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority Headquarters, heading towards Oshodi Oke along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning when a commercial bus suffered brake failure and crashed into a culvert.

LASTMA confirmed the accident in a statement shared on its X handle on Wednesday.

The statement revealed that the bus was travelling at high speed when it lost control, causing panic among road users.

“We just recorded an unfortunate incident in front of LASTMA HQ inward Oshodi Oke on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway. A commercial bus suffered brake failure and rammed into the culvert.

“There are two victims on the ground who are about to be taken to a nearby hospital. Our officials are also at the location to maintain order and ease the traffic backlog.”

LASTMA added that the affected vehicle had been removed from the road to restore normal traffic flow.
