After a career-best goalscoring campaign in 2023/2024, which saw him net 10 times in all competitions, Scott McTominay has become Manchester United’s most sought-after player this summer.

Already this window have Fulham seen two bids rejected for the Scotsman, and Napoli had a loan approach swiftly rebuffed by United only last week. Turkish rivals Fenerbache and Galatasaray had also established their interest from abroad, but it’s thought that neither would be able to match the Reds’ £25-30 million asking price.

Today, StrettyNews was made aware of Brighton and Hove Albion’s desire to hash out a deal for McTominay, while Crystal Palace have emerged as potential suitors, too.

McTominay won’t be pushed out the door at Old Trafford

It remains to be seen if any club would fork out the funds to prise the 27-year-old from Old Trafford. If his exit was to materialise, it would go against Erik ten Hag’s pleas to keep hold of his trusty lieutenant; after a pre-season win over Rangers, the manager said: “We want to actually keep him [McTominay] because he’s a very important player for our squad.

“We’ve seen what he can contribute last season. When we had the sixes, he could play in a more advanced role. He’s a highly-interesting player for our team.”

McTominay has featured for 38 minutes in 2024/2025 thus far: a 32-minute cameo in the Community Shield Final and six minutes off the bench in last Friday’s Premier League opener.
