The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission has felicitated two Nigerians, Dr Fene Osakwe and Dr Sikiru Oseni, following their nomination and reception of awards in the United Kingdom and the United States, respectively.
In separate releases signed by the NiDCOM Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, on Tuesday, the Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, showered encomiums on the duo, emphasising their immense contributions abroad.
Osakwe, a cybersecurity professional was nominated as the Cybersecurity Personality of the Year in the UK. He is the only African nominated in the category to compete with 11 nationals from other countries. The award ceremony is slated for March in the UK.
Dabiri-Erewa congratulated the cybersecurity expert, saying his achievement was a shining example of the talent and expertise that Nigerians possessed.
Similarly, Oseni was praised for receiving the United Nations Ambassador of Peace award in the US.
According to the NiDCOM chair, Oseni has been a driving force in promoting African musicians to the US and beyond.
Speaking about the philanthropist, she said, “This award is not only a testament to your outstanding achievements but also a recognition of the invaluable contributions of Nigerians in diaspora to global peace, development, and cultural promotion.”
