And they may see more first-team stars make the same move at the end of the season.

That is according to talkSPORT's Saudi correspondent Ben Jacobs, who has stated defensive duo Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are on Al Ettifaq's radar.

Managed by Reds legend Steven Gerrard, the former England captain has already lured Henderson over to the Prince Mohammad bin Fahd Stadium.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, Jacobs declared that Gomez and Matip's name were discussed ahead of a possible summer swoop.

A three-hour 'ambitious recruitment meeting' was held earlier in the week, with Aston Villa's Bertrand Traore also mentioned.

Meanwhile ex-Liverpool winger Ryan Kent is a target for Ettifaq this month having flattered to deceive at Fenerbahce so far this campaign.

It has been said that some of these names may be presented to Henderson to reassure him of the club's project amid reports he is seeking a Europe return.

Gomez, who has featured 27 times for Liverpool this term, is tied down at Anfield until 2027.

Whereas Matip is set to become a free agent having entered the final six months of his contract.

And the pair could be joined by winger Mohamed Salah, with the forward still believed to be a summer target.

Jordan Henderson's former teammate Darren Bent names the Premier League teams the midfielder could join if he leaves Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq

Salah was the subject of a rejected £150million bid by Al Ittihad in September, who presented the 31-year-old with a £2.4m-a-week salary.

Though talkSPORT understands that the Egypt international remains on the radar of Saudi clubs - along with Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne.
